Big AI labs say that LLM agents are the next step of the technological revolution started by ChatGPT. We are searching for PhD and postdoctoral researchers to help us understand and advance this technology. Starting from specific tasks currently performed by people, we aim to use existing frameworks to create LLM agents that automate them. We expect the performance of these agents will not be satisfactory, and we plan to investigate how to improve them. We currently plan to focus on in-context reinforcement learning techniques, but we are very open to investigate any meaningful direction.

Supervision
Your supervisor will be Viliam Lisý who got his Master's degree in theoretical CS at Charles University, MSc. in technical AI at Vrije University Amsterdam and Ph.D. at the CTU in Prague. As a doctoral student, he spent half a year at Carnegie Mellon University and did his postdoc at the University of Alberta in Michael Bowling's team. He co-authored the paper “DeepStack: Expert-level artificial intelligence in heads-up no-limit poker”, which was published in the Science magazine. Viliam's research interests include Computational Game Theory, Reinforcement Learning, Cyber Security, and LLM agents. He also likes solving the problems of the industry through Cisco, Trend Micro, and Gen. In his free time, Viliam enjoys running and riding a mountain bike.
Requirements
We are searching for someone who:
- Is able to start ASAP
- Is a good python programmer
- Holds at least a master’s degree in computer science or other related field
- Has prior experience with using LLMs through APIs
- Prior experience with frameworks for creating LLM agents is a great advantage
Salary and benefits
For a full-time position, we can offer a salary of 45k-59k CZK monthly brutto and you are entitled to 6 weeks of paid vacation.
