Easy to print test tube opener designed to make sample handling easier. The model is open source.
Jiří Kubík designed a test tube opener manufactured on a 3D printer. Protection shields are used for decreasing the probability of contamination. The design has been tested on FL Medical Sterile test tube used in a local hospital, where laborants suffer from blisters and calluses caused by a huge number of samples being processed every day. The tool, originally designed for the Na Bulovce Hospital, is already used by seven Czech laboratories.

CTU’s AlquistCoder team placed second in the global Amazon Nova AI Challenge, earning a $100,000 prize in the Defender category.
