Robotic bees as the future of a sustainable ecosystem

Combating the mass extinction of bees through the implementation of microrobots in hives. This is the aim of the European RoboRoyale project, which involves biologists, roboticists and machine learning experts from the Czech Republic, Austria, Turkey and the UK. The Czech footprint in the project is provided by scientists and students from the Artificial Intelligence Center at FEE CTU, who are responsible for modelling the behaviour of bee colonies and controlling microrobots. How did the bees react to the robotic inhabitants of the hive? Why use machine learning for conservation? And how do beekeepers themselves approach the problem? Each semester, the AI Center will announce the "Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award" which comes with a prize money of 15 000 CZK. The winner will be awarded in April 2024.
